Katie Milano, DPT, RYT, is a well‐known Orthopedic Physical Therapist and Yoga Instructor on the Monterey Peninsula. She merges western science and eastern understanding of body, mind, and soul. Katie received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2001 from Pacific University in Oregon.  She began practicing and studying Hatha yoga and meditation in 1992, becoming a certified yoga instructor in 1997 at Ananda Mandir, Nevada City. She went on to receive advanced certifications from Ananda for teaching meditation and advanced yoga teacher training.  She also studied one on one with yoga teacher Diane Wilson, a Sivananda and Kundalini based teacher in Portland, Or. Katie has also studied extensively over the years with Shiva Rea, Sally Kempton and Kathryn Budig.  Prior to teaching yoga, Katie taught gymnastics to elite, collage and recreational gymnasts for 9 years and was a high level competitive gymnast for eight years. Overall, Katie brings more than 20 years of teaching experience to her yoga classes, moving fluidly from one asana to another with core strength, alignment and creativity, integrating pranayama and yoga philosophy throughout each class. Katie’s compassionate yet challenging style draws each individual into the wisdom of their own body and the experience of yoga on and off the mat!
